PLEASE NOTE: Vegan Mario’s is no longer open to walk-in customers. We have shifted focus to our wholesale orders and online storefront. LOCALS are welcome to come in and pick up anything you see on this site, use promotional code “CALOCAL” to remove any shipping charges.

You can still get our famous gluten-free sourdough pizza and calzones by ordering in bulk or throwing a pizza party. We have a 4 pizza minimum. Want calzones too? 6 calzone minimum. Both items freeze perfectly and “bake up” nice + crispy in your home oven.

All orders are shipped on Tuesday. Locals may pick up on Tuesday in Oak View at our kitchen from noon – 4pm or Sunday at The Ojai Certified Farmers Market from 9 – 1pm.

Orders for Tuesday shipping or pick-up must be placed by Monday at noon. Orders placed after Monday at noon will not ship until Tuesday of the following week. ORDERS CAN BE ARRANGED FOR OTHER DAYS OF THE WEEK. THERE IS A $200 MINIMUM.

Artisanal Gluten-Free Sourdough

This is the very same bread that sells out every weekend at the Ojai Certified Farmers Market. It tastes like “regular” sourdough… soft and chewy, not crumbly. Before we started selling it online, we’d have people drive up from as far away as San Diego (4 hours south of us!) to get their fix. There is simply no other GF bread on the market like it. We bake our loaves in cast iron with love.

Each loaf is over 1.75 lbs. (800 g.) of handmade sourdough.

  • This bread is seriously unbelievable. It reminds me of this bakery on Long Island from when I was a kid. It was the best bread around, Pumpernickel Rye, and on the days it was baked they had lines circling the block. The first time I ate Mario’s bread, I cried tears of joy. Not only because it reminded me of my youth, but because his bread was even better than the one I remembered. I can’t wait to have my mom try this.

    By far, not only the best gluten-free, but the best bread I’ve ever tasted… We couldn’t stop eating it. It actually makes you feel better and better. Whenever I eat bread normally, I get drowsy and it messes me up. Mario’s bread totally energizes me– plus it tastes like heaven! This is actually really cool.     Mario’s gluten-free sourdough baguette is the best sourdough I’ve ever tasted! It’s elasticity, character and flavor surpasses most gluten-filled sourdoughs I’ve tried. Unlike most gluten-free breads it can be easily toasted and maintains it’s crisp crunch and rustic-type crust.   • I’ve looked for a good gluten free, vegan bread for a long time. During the process, I became disillusioned with trying to make a delicious bread without all the added oil, sugar and yeast. It is not easy to find a good gluten free bread without tons of extra ingredients that I don’t want to be putting in my (and my child’s) body on a regular basis. But, Vegan Mario’s has done it! Not only is this is the cleanest gluten free bread product available, it is even more healthy because of the sourdough fermentation process. And the best part is my 8 year old loves it!
